Business leaders tend to follow in the footsteps of those who demonstrate strength, creativity, honesty and innovation. Looking to great leaders from the past, innovative leaders of today, and up and coming leaders who will offer a fresh perspective tomorrow is a tried and true approach to finding inspiration. What is less common, however, is learning from the leaders who fail – and fail spectacularly.
This is exactly what we have done. Over the years, we’ve found that poor leaders can be an invaluable source of information on what NOT to do. We’ve also noticed that these leaders share far too many traits, which inevitably undermine their position and their future. To foster a successful leadership style, we believe that while it is important to understand what paths to follow, it is just as important to understand what pitfalls to avoid.
